ABOUT ME – Jesús Andrade Para Alcalde de Stockton

I’m Jesús Andrade, a proud Stockton native. My story starts in southeast Stockton, where I grew up in a hardworking family from Michoacán, Mexico. Early on, I learned about leadership and hard work in our family’s agricultural business.

I was the first in my family to go to college, and I didn’t stop at just getting a philosophy degree from Sacramento State University in 2007. I also got involved in student leadership and became the Student Body President. After college, I jumped into public policy, landing a top-notch fellowship in the California State Assembly and later contributing significantly to President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign.

My love for our community brought me back to Stockton, where I served on the City Council from 2017 to 2021. During my time, we made big strides in reducing crime and addressing homelessness, and I played a key role in making Stockton one of the most fiscally healthy cities in the U.S. I also helped launch the city’s first business incubator for food entrepreneurs, which is now thriving.

As CEO of the San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, I worked to expand its impact, even bringing the 2019 California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Convention to Stockton.

On a personal note, I’m a family man, happily married to my wife Andrea, and together we’re raising our wonderful children in this beautiful city. A good time for us is eating something delicious at Nena’s Restaurant or grabbing a slice at Michael’s Pizza.

I’m all about dedication, leading our community, and being a true Stocktonian at heart.
